Summer season picks up its pace, offering us more and more entertainments every week. It’s nice to see the restaurants and shops opening all over Alanya and Mahmutlar, coloring up the city, as if the tree opens its flowers. Still the weather is colder than it must be at this time of the year, but tourists try to live their holidays at “warm place”, wearing shorts and t-shirts, and trying not to show that they are actually freezing. Our neighbors’ pools are fool, but nobody ventures to enter them. Very soon, the most comfortable weather of this region will start, and you won’t need any devices neither for heating nor for cooling your home. I like spring and autumn most of all in here. Nevertheless, this season brings many problems to people who have allergy – a lot of trees and flowers start to bloom, causing discomfort of different level. Just in case you are here for the first time and suddenly started to have health problems (as some of my friends do), that must be it. Still I hope you enjoy these spring sunny days.
One of the biggest spring events in many countries is Easter, which we will celebrate next week. This week Bombola Help Association, which regularly organizes charity bazaars, is also organizes Traditional Easter Bazaar and invites everyone to the event which will be held on April 16, Saturday in Alanya at Green Beach Restaurant (behind Grand Okan Hotel) between 11:00 and 16:00. There you will be able to purchase hand made and second hand stuff, books, German products (cheese, sausage, etc) and take part in a lottery. The association will be grateful for any donations. As usual, all the money saved from bazaar will be used for charity. This time — for sterilization and treatment of stray animals. For more information you can call 0533 463 39 04.
Many people help stray animals, but some can’t help their own. Like so many times people buy an apartment and live there happily, having pets. And one day the residents of the complex decide that everyone in the building has to get rid of their animals, and, first of all, dogs. It’s understandable, because living in the neighborhood of a dog, which barks and yelps all day long, is almost impossible, and if you come for holiday, you definitely don’t want any extra irritant. But let’s look at the problem from animal lovers’ point of view – the dog are not just animal or a toy, it’s one of the family, and it’s a pain to lose one. The reason why I actually broach this subject is that one of my acquaintances is having this problem now. She says that their dog is quiet and never goes outside alone, but their Complex Board demands to rid the building of dogs. You may think I am wrong, but I believe that animal lovers have the equal rights with everyone. So, I would like to ask the readers of the newspaper – if you ever came across the same problem and managed to solve it, probably you would like to share your experience with the other readers. You can e-mail me or leave your comment here. Thank you in advance.
See you next week, take care.
